My new home will be a Jim Cox design. I’m planning on downsizing from a large home to a smaller one. Jim has already started working on the plans. One thing that is very important to me is preserving as many trees on my lot as possible and Jim is designing with that in mind. And once again, I know my home will complement but not look like others in the neighborhood.

Another important skill Jim possesses is the ability to solve architectural problems in a way to enable us to keep within the client's budget. I find his knowledge of building techniques and building costs are a terrific help to me, when working with a client, to produce a handsome home within the client's comfort price zone. What sets Jim apart from others in this field is his commitment to solve our design problems and not to create a problem by designing a home that exceeds the customer's budget. I tis always hard for customers to find out that their wonderful new custom home (plan) will cost more to build that the budget allows – Jim helps prevent this frustration.
Flexibility is another trait that Jim has. He works with the same interest with our little remodeling projects as with larger Homes. He has designed a Summit Award Winning Three-Story Log & Rock Home for us and also solves tricky remodeling problems with the same attention to detail and concern for the customer's needs. In many cases, the remodeling projects take more design creativity than a new home.
All plans have some imperfections although Jim's plans have very few. It is evident that the Cox Team performs many “plan checks” before the final plans go to printing. It makes a difference during construction – the job goes more smoothly.
I have been in this business for 41 years and Jim is my choice to work with from start to finish. He helps me to bring the project on line with increased value for our clients.
