Testimonials
"Our experience with Jim Cox began in 2001 when we first started to think about building our custom home in the Texas Hill Country. Jim was very helpful about going with us to view properties to help us determine whether or not our design would fit the property. After choosing a property, the fun began. Jim spent many hours with us while we adjusted the plans to meet our needs, making the plans unique to our taste and unlike any others. Our home reflects our taste perfectly. We love our art glass niche.
My new home will be a Jim Cox design. I’m planning on downsizing from a large home to a smaller one. Jim has already started working on the plans. One thing that is very important to me is preserving as many trees on my lot as possible and Jim is designing with that in mind. And once again, I know my home will complement but not look like others in the neighborhood."

"The most important thing in building a new home is the design. It should fit your ideas about living, style, convenience, site and budget and should end up a projection of your family. There is a wow factor when the designer makes the home become part of you. We could not be happier with our home. It fits like a good suit. When we come home it is like going on vacation."

"Jim designed two homes for us. He took the time to understand how we live and designed both homes to suit our lifestyle. He impressed us with how easily he incorporated the details we wanted but could not articulate. The few changes we required were made easily and without any hassle. His support staff is great: professional, knowledgeable and always going the extra mile. We’ve had a great experience with Jim both times and highly recommend him for his ability to discern what the customer wants, his excellent sense of proportion and style in his design and his very reasonable fees."

"Jim Cox and his team have been designing Custom Homes and Remodeling Projects for us for over 15 years. He has a great ability to interpret what our customers desires/needs are and then he is able to translate those ideas to a floor plan that hits the mark the first time in most cases.
Another important skill Jim possesses is the ability to solve architectural problems in a way to enable us to keep within the client's budget. I find his knowledge of building techniques and building costs are a terrific help to me, when working with a client, to produce a handsome home within the client's comfort price zone. What sets Jim apart from others in this field is his commitment to solve our design problems and not to create a problem by designing a home that exceeds the customer's budget. I tis always hard for customers to find out that their wonderful new custom home (plan) will cost more to build that the budget allows – Jim helps prevent this frustration.
Flexibility is another trait that Jim has. He works with the same interest with our little remodeling projects as with larger Homes. He has designed a Summit Award Winning Three-Story Log & Rock Home for us and also solves tricky remodeling problems with the same attention to detail and concern for the customer's needs. In many cases, the remodeling projects take more design creativity than a new home.
All plans have some imperfections although Jim's plans have very few. It is evident that the Cox Team performs many “plan checks” before the final plans go to printing. It makes a difference during construction – the job goes more smoothly.
I have been in this business for 41 years and Jim is my choice to work with from start to finish. He helps me to bring the project on line with increased value for our clients."
